Launch Cohort 2026

Internships building theName.app

We're hiring four interns to help launch theName.app — the Universal App — from Bangalore, June to December 2026. Two in engineering. Two in operations. Direct work with the founder, at TNAP Platforms. Real users. Real launch.

The opportunity

The platform is built. Engineering complete end May 2026. Public launch in Q3 2026, beginning with a six-month Bangalore trial. The interns we hire are not learning on a side project — they are part of the launch. By month two, real users are using what you've helped harden. By month five, you've shipped to a public cohort.

You will work directly with Salim, the founder. No layers, no middle managers, no make-work. You own a domain. You deliver. You ask when you're truly stuck. The expectations are unusually high; the trust is unusually high; the responsibility is unusually high. That's the trade.

At the end of the six months, the people who delivered will be referenceable for the rest of their careers. The Launch Cohort 2026 will be a small, named group that helped take a Universal App from end-of-engineering through a real public launch.

The four roles

Two engineering. Two operations.

01 · Engineering

1 June 2026
→ 30 Nov 2026

Engineering — Production

Run the full docker-compose stack locally. Ship fixes across iOS, Android, and Web on Food, Wallet, Connect, and Shop. Strengthen integration test coverage where it's thin. Pre-launch: harden the platform before public users. Post-launch: front-line triage with code-level fixes on real-user issues.

02 · Engineering

1 July 2026
→ 31 Dec 2026

Engineering — Tooling & AI

Build on the Admin Dashboard (Vite + React + TypeScript). Ship features and data tooling the team needs to operate the trial. Write analytics queries against the production data stores. Iterate Angel's AI prompts based on real user conversation logs.

03 · Operations

1 July 2026
→ 31 Dec 2026

Operations — Supply Onboarding

Restaurants in Koramangala, Indiranagar, HSR. Sellers, drivers. Human close after the AI-agent first-pass outreach. Field work in Bangalore — on-site visits, contract walk-throughs, daily activation.

04 · Operations

1 July 2026
→ 31 Dec 2026

Operations — Content, Growth & Community

Founder-in-public content support, the webname reservation campaign, the 20–50 creator partnership target, press coordination, hyperlocal activation events in Bangalore neighbourhoods.

Who this is for

If this is you, apply.

  • Final-year student (BE/BTech/MCA/BCA/design), or recent graduate within the last 12 months
  • Bangalore-based, or willing to relocate to Bangalore before your start date
  • Engineering applicants: fluent with Claude Code (the CLI), with at least one complex project you've shipped using it
  • You finish things. You own delivery. You ask for help when truly stuck, not before
  • Ethical and honest by default — about your work, your mistakes, your gaps
  • Genuinely humble — describes failure cleanly, names what you're trying to fix about yourself

Who this isn't for

Skip if any of these are you.

  • × Looking for a 2–3 month engagement, or a checkbox internship for college credit alone
  • × Need step-by-step direction or daily review to make progress
  • × "AI tools" applicants who haven't actually shipped anything with them
  • × Cannot be in Bangalore for the duration
  • × Treating this as a side-project alongside a full-time job
  • × Performing humility instead of being honest about gaps

Practical details

The basics.

Stipend
₹8,000–₹15,000 / month, by track and prior experience. Tell us in your application what works for you.
Duration
6 months. Engineering — Production starts 1 June. The other three roles start 1 July.
Location
Remote-first within Bangalore, with regular in-person meetups (~1–2× / month) at the registered office in Richmond Town.
Commitment
Full-time. This isn't a side-project programme.
Cohort
Four people total. Two engineering, two operations.
After the trial
No automatic conversion. Strong performers will be priority candidates for post-funding full-time roles. We'll be honest about fit either way.

The application

Take this seriously.

This application takes about 45 minutes end-to-end. It's broken into five steps. Your progress is saved as you type — close the tab and come back later if you need to.

Read our vision first. One of the questions tests whether you did.

This takes about 60–90 minutes if you do it properly.

Your answers save automatically in this browser as you type — close the tab and come back later from the same browser to pick up where you left off. Bullets are fine throughout. Clarity beats prose.

Step 1 of 5 · About you

A

Who you are

Basic identifiers and contact.

B

The role you want

Pick a track. Specifics in the next field.

C

Academic record

We will verify these at shortlist round.

Skip this if you don't have one ready — the academic record + portfolio link above carry the same weight. We don't want you spending an hour formatting a CV for us.

A

The most impressive thing you've built

Made, written, shipped, or run. Specifically what you did. Aim for 300–500 words — bullets are fine, clarity beats prose.

0 words

Code, deployed app, design file, writing, demo — something we can actually see.

B

Claude Code

Fluency with Claude Code is near-required for engineering, and a strong signal for operations too. We use it daily.

A

Why this, specifically

"Because it's a startup" is not a valid answer. Read our vision before answering.

B

How you actually work

Three short prompts. Be concrete and honest — short paragraphs or tight bullets, your call.

C

The weakest thing

A test of self-criticism. Resist the urge to perform.

A

A small exercise

Look at tnap.io and thename.app. Pick one thing you'd change.

B

Working-style calibration

Be honest, not strategic. We're looking for fit, not the "right" answer.

Ambiguity is energising for me, rather than draining.

Draining
Energising

I'd rather ship something rough I'm not fully proud of than wait until it's polished.

Wait for polish
Ship rough

I think in writing — I write things down to figure them out.

Not really
Very much

I prefer working independently to working in a team.

Team
Independent

When I'm stuck, I push through alone before asking for help.

Ask early

Stipend

Range is ₹8,000–₹15,000 / month. Tell us your number honestly.

B

A short video (optional, strongly encouraged)

Link to a 60–90 second video where you introduce yourself, tell us about something interesting you've built recently, and one weird-but-real thing about you. Loom, YouTube unlisted, Google Drive — any platform.

C

One real thing (optional)

A habit, weakness, or aspect of how you work that's a little unconventional but real. Or one you're trying to change. Not a chance to humblebrag.

D

Before you submit

Take a deep breath before you hit submit. You can't edit after.

FAQ

Common questions.

When will I hear back?

Shortlisted candidates: within 3 weeks of submission. Everyone else: we'll respond, but it may take longer. We don't ghost.

Can I apply for both engineering and operations?

Yes — select "Either" for track preference and explain in the "which specific role draws you" field.

Do you really require Claude Code experience for engineering?

For engineering tracks, fluency with Claude Code (or similar AI coding tools used systematically) is a near-requirement. If you haven't used it but are confident you'd ramp quickly, your answer needs to make that case explicitly.

What happens after the trial ends?

No automatic conversion to full-time. Strong performers will be priority candidates for post-funding hires. We'll be honest about fit either way. References available from Salim for the rest of your career.

Is the stipend negotiable?

Within the ₹8K–₹15K range, yes — based on track, prior experience, and your context. We won't go above ₹15K for this cohort.

Will college credit be supported?

Yes — if you're a final-year student doing this as your final-semester internship, we'll sign required college documents and provide attendance / certification at the end.

My progress saved — what does that mean?

Your answers are saved in your browser as you type. Close the tab, come back later, and pick up where you left off. The draft clears once you successfully submit.
